Professional Audio
Nashville Scene Cast
During the summer of 2017, I spent my time at the Nashville Scene creating their first steady podcast. I sent an email to the editor-in-chief of the magazine during the springtime, offering to put together a podcast for the magazine. The editor-in-chief was eager to welcome me on to the team.
In my time at the Scene, I outlined the structure of the podcast based on the best format for the Nashville magazine. This took going through popular podcasts and podcasts by other Alt-Weekly magazines and examining the best introduction structure.
My next job was then to acquire the audio machinery necessary for operating an at-home podcast studio. This took research into audio technology, looking into the best mixers and microphones, and ordering the proper machines.
After setting up the technology, the next step was to put together the first outline of a podcast. The podcast format was to interview reporters within the Scene about magazine pieces they had put together.

Today, there are 32 podcast episodes based on the original format I created, the original Nashville Scene Cast. There have also been other podcasts that sprung up during my time, including a recap of The Bachlorette and It’s All Your Fault. I helped produce some of these, but they have continued and flourished after I left.
